IBSA will be holding a Church and Pastor Tax Seminar, presented by Summit Tax and Accounting in Decatur, on Feb. 11th, 8:30 am to noon, at the IBSA Building in Springfield. The Association had such small attendance for our VBS training in 2010 and 2011 that we do not plan to host a VBS clinic in 2012. After surveying our churches, speaking with past attendees and consulting with the wonderful, dedicated volunteers who have faithfully prepared and taught this training in the past, we have concluded that our churches either no longer use Lifeway, or hold their own training or attend state-led training, or just are unable to fit association training into their schedules. Calvary Baptist in Alton has opened their training to all churches, so please call them at 465-4357 for more information. You can also look up IBSA training dates online. First Baptist of Mitchell has created their own VBS materials. Please contact them at 656-3167 for more information. We regret any inconvenience the withdrawal of the associational clinic may cause and would be glad to accept a list of volunteers to teach in 2013 if anyone is interested. The Association will continue to purchase the Lifeway VBS matierals pack. If your church is interested in borrowing this material, please contact the Association office at 254-3953 to reserve.
GBA is in need of an enclosed trailer to store extra block party equipment in. It does not need to be in drivable condition. If anyone has one they would consider donating to the association, please contact our office (618-254-3953). Thanks!

Holiday Shores Baptist will be hosting a men’s small group based upon the movie Courageous. This group will focus on the challenges and opportunities of being a courageous father. Meetings will be the second Saturday of each month until Father’s day 2012. The next meeting is Saturday, February 11th. All meetings begin at 8:00am. Old Sunday School materials and other Christian literature being donated to Love Packages/Eagle’s Nest can now be dropped off at Bethel Baptist Church in Troy. Their office hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Phone: 618-667-7775. These materials will be sent to missionaries overseas so please donate only items applicable for witnessing (no diet books, romance novels, etc.). Thank you for your support of this ministry!
